U16 Cougars travel to Glasgow U16 Sevens Tournament

First up were Paisley RFC and a fine team performance from the Cougars saw them run in ten tries in the fourteen minute game to win 54-0. Next opponents were Whitecraigs who proved to be a stiffer test but again the Cougars won with a 28-7 victory.

A 31-0 defeat by the home side and eventual tournament winners Cartha Queens Park left the Cougars fighting for second spot in the group. This was achieved by defeating Duncanrig 31-0 in the final pool game.

A semi-final game against local rivals Ayr beckoned. Trailing 26-0 at half time left the boys with too much to do but they responded magnificently in the second half conceding only two tries and scoring a tremendously worked team try in the final play. Ayr won 40-7 to progress to the final where they lost to the hosts by two points in a fiercely contested match.
