Cumnock S1/2 36 Kilmarnock S1/2 10

In their last game of the season Cumnock turned on the style against a fancied Kilmarnock squad. Kilmarnock kindly supplied Cumnock with props throughout the game as Cumnock were missing all their experienced props and two of the Killie boys also chipped in with tries against their own.

The game itself was well balanced to start with until the Nocks backs took the game by the scruff of the neck and found the space to run in a few scores. Killie replied in the second half but by the time the third 20 was finished Cumnock had won well showing the best of their play, running and passing freely but most of all they tackled well as a team which at the end of the day was the difference between the two teams.

The scorers were Calum Park 4, Connor Hill 2, Louis Andrew 2 with Alastair Birrell and Tyler Wallace knocking over the conversions, however the whole team can be proud of the way they played.

This season the boys have improved greatly playing exciting rugby, that’s good to watch, using the ball well and their tackling against bigger opposition throughout the season has been a bonus and the difference between winning and losing.

For the S2’s, of the two tournaments they entered this year they won one and were beaten finalists in the other but they will need to find more players to compete in the under 15 league next year.

The S1’s have a good core of a team and should have a full squad for next year but will need all their players to turn up for training and games.
