Cumnock travelled to Troon to play a good Marr S2 side with a depleted S1/2 squad due to call offs and injuries. The Cumnock forwards were particularly light and it meant they had to play players out of position to fill in. The bigger Marr squad were well organised and took control of the game making breaks on the overlap as Cumnock were getting drawn into rucks.

The Cougars mixed team never gave up and for long periods of the game matched Marr but they just couldn’t get through the Marr ranks for the elusive first score. Unfortunately the score does not reflect much of the good work Cumnock put in, a special mention must go to the S1’s who faced up to the Marr S2’s and to the boys who were asked to play out of position to make up the team.
