Cumnock P7 v Lenzie

In the shadow of Campsie Fells swathed in beautiful Autumn sunshine the P7 Cougars recorded an emphatic win against North Glasgow side Lenzie . Coaches were delighted to see the boys run in 15 tries in glorious weather, but were equally impressed by the impenetrable defensive line that repelled every Lenzie attack to deny their hosts a single try. Cumnock did an awful lot right in this game; great defence, some great individual tries with searing solo breaks, some bulldozing through the (BIG) Lenzie defence, some opportunistically pouncing on Lenzie mistakes and a couple of cheeky interceptions but Coaches felt that the best scores resulted from brilliant team work with superb continuity, well timed passing and great spatial awareness and game sense. A good but not perfect performance; rucking was a wee bit sluggish with some indecision and some panicky through away passing. However coaches commented that when the team are switched on and playing with confidence there are very view sides that could better them. The boys are away to Hamilton on Sunday then at home to local rivals Ayr the following Sunday so lots of big games to come!
