Ayr vs Cumnock S1

First up were Ayr playing a mix of S1 and S2 players.From the start Cumnock performed well playing the ball across the pitch to create several ground breaking attacks into Ayr's 22 testing the home side's defence.

Ayr opened the scoring with a try near the posts after sneaking through a gap in Cumnock's defence.At the restart Cumnock battled back attacking with strong runs and precise passing which resulted in Logan Naismith scoring over the line to equalize.

Cumnock continued to threaten throughout the game but a couple of lapses in defence gave the hosts another two tries making the final score Ayr 9 Cumnock 3.

The second game against Ayr went much the same as the previous although Ayr came out with a stronger squad than the last.Cumnock played well coming close to scoring on some occasions but Ayr managed to use an overlap and some slick runners to win the game by four tries.

Strathaven was the last game of the day,fielding a very experienced team they made a run for the try line only to be stopped and turned over to let Cumnock make a run.

Play went back and forth throughout the match with both sides holding their own, eventually tired legs began to show allowing Strathaven to take the win.

Cumnock came away with heads held high after playing three demanding games with only two substitutes.They performed very well both in attack and defence and earned the respect of opposition players and coaches who commented on how tight they played.
