S1 Cumnock Cougars 19 - Kilmarnock 3

Straight from the off Cumnock were determined to make there last game of the season one to remember and they certainly did. With the players starting to find what positions they are best suited to it brought out a winning performance and really gave the boys a boost. With a solid attacking line and superior ball handling skills it wasn't long before winger Brent McGloughlan scored the first try. With the first score under their belt it wasn't long before a team effort got the boys close to Killies line and with great support Gary Balmer managed to reach over and touch the ball down. The score at Half time Cumnock 8 - Kilmanock 0.

Straight from the kick off Cumnock were the stronger team and they weren't long in showing Killie just how much they wanted this win. The third try came from Calum Park making a great run straight through Kilmarnocks line and with no one to stop him, scored underneath the posts. With the boys confidence running high they started to put together some great play allowing Paddy Dewhirst to make a great run up the wing, drawing in the defender and off loading the ball to Ronaldo Smith who ran in the fourth try.

Great credit to Kilmarnock they never gave up and their perserverence paid off with them scoring the next try. The final score came from full back Louis Andrews, who earlier on in the game had made an amazing run that unfortnatley had not resulted in a try, so this was well deserved. All conversions on the day were made by Ronaldo Smith.

This game was a testiment to what can be achieved when the boys play as a team, they ended the season on a high and made all the hard work, from themselves and their coaches, worthwhile. Well done Cougars.
