With Marr getting straight on the score sheet this did not dishearten the Cougars and they soon recipricated with a great worked try of their own. The boys made some great decisions and really showed that they are capable of thinking rugby as well as playing it.
With Marr making a break through the Cougars line they ran in the next try and with some great handling of the ball Cumnock soon got one back and the half finished Cumnock 6 Marr 8.
At the start of the second half Marr made a break down the left wing and managed to get ahead of the Cumnock boys but with a great run across field, full back Louis Andrews, stopped the Marr boy in his tracks to save the boys going further behind. Unfortunatley it wasn't long before Marr got another try but the Cougars did push them right into the corner and never once made it look easy for Marr to score.
With tired bodies and mistakes on both sides Marr scored again to pull the score away from Cumnock and with time ticking away there was not time left to bring the outcome closer.
Cumnock boys put on a great performance today and with the whole summer training ahead of them the forecast for next season certainly looks bright and sunny. Tries scored by Alistair Birrell and Lachlan Shirkie.
