After Glasgow Warriors gained home semi final Cumnock s1 got invited to play at Scotstoun on 3G pitch, prior to big semi final.

The Cumnock s1 v Jordanhill s1 game started at 6.15 before big game at 7.45 on Friday night.

Cumnock went up with the squad which has been representing Cumnock s1 all season.

Cumnock only had a short warm up and this meant Cumnock started slowly against Jordanhill Schools. Both teams starting going up and down pitch. Cumnock scrum was strong but Jordanhill School were good at breakdown. Andy Houston came in at last minute to help s1 team and scored first try when ball came out and Andy got across line. Coach Rab Donald then got to speak to team after end of first 15 minute period.

Cumnock now got the ball moving with the tries starting to follow. Luke Donald was playing at standoff after forwards secured ball and Luke ran through. Kerr Robson scored a lot of his conversions including this one to make it 7-0 (It's 3 points try & 1 conversion). Andy Houston scored his 2nd try after more great moving. All the Cumnock team were tackling everything that moved with great hits as well. 1 Jordanhill player got past a number of tackles and scored in corner in last play of 2nd player to make it Cumnock 11 Jordanhill Schools 3. Coach Donald got back to talking about closing gaps and using players we had on pitch.

It didn't take long for the Cumnock players to respond. Just 20 seconds into 3rd period Ruiridh Airlie which had been giving Jordanhill Schools problem all day ran through some Jordanhill players to score. Now with Cumnock looking as if they were going to win Cumnock players gained extra confidence and ball started moving through all the team. Next person to score try was Cameron Smith after ball moved through players Robson scored conversion, after kick off the ball got back to Airlie who scored next try almost immediately after moving through Jordanhill. This made score Cumnock 21 Jordanhill 3. Cumnock's fitness was starting to show after some players had played with Cumnock s1/2 2 nights earlier against Dumfries (a game Cumnock won). Cumnock then moved forward and when Jordanhill Schools were being kept in their own 22 by Cumnock's tackling and closing gaps and when ball went into try area to their own players, Andy Houston dived on ball to score try, before Jordanhill could ground ball. Lewis Young scored conversion. Near end of game Cumnock continued to maintain pressure and Cameron Smith scored last try with Robson scoring last conversion to make it Cumnock s1 29 Jordanhill s1 3.

Coach Rab Donald was pleased with whole team and everyone who made a great performance. It was a great night as Glasgow Warriors won semi final as well which the team watched.
