Garnock were short of a few players due to the holiday weekend so Cumnock played 2 mixed S1/s teams against them. The teams comprising the S1 forwards and S2 backs and the S2 forwards and S1 backs, both performed well. Both age groups combined well and produced a flurry of tries some of which were of a very high standard. Tries came from the hugely impressive Rob Drummond (3), from the human battering ram Jamie Drummond (2), from the quick feet of Ross Marr (2) and 1 each for Seb Ciancio and Rhuridh Airlie.

Coach Jayson McMillan said after the game, “ this was a good run out for the players. Despite 10 players being off on holiday we still had 30 players available. The boys gelled well and scored some great tries against committed opposition. Cumnock S1’s train on Wednesdays at 6:30 and S2 s train on Tuesdays and Thursdays also at 6:30. We are currently still recruiting players and anyone interested should just come along to the rugby club on training nights and speak to one of the coaches. Rugby is a great game that suits all sorts of players, we get a lot of ex footballers or athletes who always do well. There is also a place in the team for bigger more powerful players or small nippy ones.”
