Their opponents were an amalgam of Dumfries and Dalziel and proved a stern test.
In perfect rugby conditions Cumnock kicked off in warm sunny conditions. As usual they seemed to be caught cold and through a mixture of poor decision making and trying to force the game they gave away an early interception try. This acted as a wake up call fro Cumnock as they raised their game and seemed to find their composure.
There followed a stream of great tries scored by Jaime Drummond, Rob Drummond, new player Ryan Galloway, Andy Houston, Wallace Finlay (2), Owen Young, Hamish White and Adam *Killa* Watt.
Coach Alan Hill commented that, “This was a big improvement by the team from the Whitecraigs game. They went from a team that couldn’t catch the ball to one that dropped only 1 or 2 passes in 60 minutes. The play from the team was at time brilliant with sweeping and incisive moves. I was really pleased with new players Joshua Wallace and Ryan Gallagher who showed loads of potential. It was also great to get Owen Young back from holiday to ad some steel to our defence.”
Next week training will move to the earlier time of 6:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
