Saturday 31 August

After what seems like a long lay off, senior rugby is back for the new season. Cumnock 1st XV kick off their Tennent's West League 2 campaign on Saturday with a home game v Wigtownshire at Broomfield. (3.00ko)

With the new season comes new faces and President Mark Linden, along with the Club committee wish the new coaching team of Donald Hunter and Morton Houston and new captain and vice captain, Robbie McClaren and Barry O'Dowd all the best for the season and hope its a successful one.

The Cumnock squad have had a couple of competitive away fixtures already in pre-season, giving an extended squad some much needed game time and they will be looking to hit the ground running in their first home fixture.

The squad is boosted by the annual influx of U18 players, reducing the average age of the already young team even more and a delicate balancing act between youth and experience will be required from the coaches to bring the best out of the squad.

We had some great crowds and support last season and it would be great to see you all again this season and remember you dont even get your feet wet watching the rugby these days!!. As usual the Club will be open for refreshments and kick off is 3.00pm on the new pitches.
