Cumnock RFC U13's

Cumnock U13 - 35 Whitecraigs U13 - 7

After a tough end to last season Cumnock S1 got off to the best possible start in their first full sized pitch outing with a thumping win against Whitecraigs.
With a squad of 18 boys and in 30degree heat Cumnock immediately applied the pressure in the Whitecraigs 22 from kick off. Handling errors by both teams saw a midfield tussle until Cumnock recycled quick ball and moved it out wide. From the scrum Cameron fed Lewis to touchdown in the corner. Lewis went on to convert the points.
Whitecraigs replied with a try but missed the conversion.
Stuart then went on a darting run from the Whitecraigs 22 to score and restore Cumnocks cushion. Whitecraigs kicked and ran in a try from deep in their own half to end the session Cumnock 8-7 whitecraigs.
The 2nd session saw a relentless Cumnock pile on an addition 19 points without reply. Shaun was instrumental in driving Cumnock up the pitch and fed Aiden for a try and later touching down himself. Calum looked like a player who had years of experience under his belt as he made hard metres up the pitch to allow Cumnock to score again. Daniel also touched down while Lewis kept slotting the conversions away. The forwards did a huge amount of work in disrupting any Whitecraigs moves and built a platform for the backs to move the ball quickly into space. Cumnock 27-7 Whitecraigs.
The final 15 minute session saw Shaun feed Cameron out wide who sped away to touchdown under the posts. Another play saw Lewis go through the gears and score.
Cumnock 35-7 Whitecraigs.
A convincing victory that came about by excellent team work, relentless tackling, work rate and quick handling of the ball.
A big mention to the Cumnock lads who gave 100% playing for Whitecraigs who didn’t travel with a big squad.
