Right from the off Cumnock were the stronger team, the forwards dominated in the rucks and scrums which gave Cumnock at least 90% of the possession in the first half. It wasn't long before they capatilised on this with the forwards driving towards Uddingston's try line, it wasn't long before 'J' Smith broke away and with help from the other forwards drove over the line for the first score of the game. At the restart Cumnock were quick to run at Uddingston again, with superb handling from the backs Calum Park managed to break through Uddingston's line and run a try in right beneath the posts.
With the Cougars on the front foot they played some great free flowing rugby, they managed to pass the ball along the line and with a fantastic catch from a loose pass, Connor Hill managed to draw the player in and off load to Brent McLaughlin who scored the third try and Ronald Smith to make the conversion.
At the start of the second half Uddingston came out and put together some great set pieces and this allowed them to run in the next try. This did not deter Cumnock who soon answered back with a win at the scrum 5 meters from Uddingstons line and with the forwards drawing in the opposition it allowed the backs to be a man over in their line and Ronaldo Smith scored and converted the last points of the game.
Congratulations go to both teams who played some magnificent rugby in some horrendous weather.
