From the start they kept their line well and drove forward at every given opportunity. With some great handling it wasn't long before Calum Park managed to make a break and with the Cougars, who have worked hard this summer on support play, shadowing him it was easy for Daryl McCulloch to touch the ball down.
With some strong rucking it always looked like the cougars were in control of the game, but a wayward pass saw Hamilton intercept and nearly run in a try but full back, Louis Andrew had the player covered and made the tackle to stop them going any further towards the cougar line. With such a strong first half the Cougars heads were up and they continued with strong rucking, great support play and brilliant handling it wasn't long before forward Daryl McCulloch was scoring another try right between the posts and with both conversions by Calum Park they had a comfortable lead. But great credit to Hamilton they never gave up and with some missed tackles and great hands they got a try in the corner.
