Starting with a strong and more experienced side Cumnock scored two tries in the first twenty minutes from Sean Houston and Kieran Vance. The defence held up throughout stopping any advance from Garnock who were rarely in the Cumnock half.
The second game provided more attacking play for the home side although Garnock were winning most of the breakdowns an area which has been addressed at training.
Slick passing and evasive running created another two tries scored by Dylan Black and Callum Bell. Tyler Wallace kicked the second conversion adding another point which would make the difference at the end of the game.
Changes were made to the team for the last game giving everyone the chance to play. With a little less experience Garnock exploited gaps left in the Cumnock line and ran in four tries to leave them only needing one point to level the score, John Watt had scored the final try for Cumnock. The home sides defence held up in the final minutes eventually pushing a Garnock maul out of the park to end play.
This was a narrow win of only one point but a massive improvement in playing terms for the team in their third game of the season.
