Report by Martin Wallace
Cumnock went for it from the kick off scoring three tries within five minutes giving them a sense that it would be a walkover. This was not the case as Whitecraigs began to organize their defence contesting for the ball, making Cumnock fight for every metre on the pitch.
Both teams had their moments as the game went from one side to the other testing each others kicking game.Whitecraigs showed their skill with various attacks coming close only to be stopped by a determined Cumnock defence. Eventually the opposition broke through scoring twice from scrums near the Cumnock try line.
Cumnock played well throughout defending as well as on the attack. Good support play and accurate passing provided another four tries with two conversions kicked bringing the final score to 23 - 7.
A much improved game was played with more tactic and thought which will continue to be worked on at training to improve further on an already high skill level.
