Cumnock Vs Kelso

This week we had a Saturday fixture against a very determined and highly skilled touring Kelso team.

The kids started off the day pretty slowly and appeared to be gauging the opponents steadily however as both teams got into their rhythm it was the Cumnock Cougars who found themselves on the back foot as Kelso charged to the line quickly as they gathered their team together and fought hard. However as the staunch defence was built on time and time again Kelso came to realise what all other teams that we have played have come to see. That Cumnock work how they tackle. Very Hard Indeed. With Aaron and Rudi assisting the P5s our squad was depleted quite a bit however none of that was shown on the pitch as we started to drive home our dominance. Adam S, Neil & Kyran were working hard to stop the leaks in the defence whilst tries came rolling in time and again from Stuart, Euan, Alfie, and Adam K. Try of the day definitely came from Adam K who beat three tacklers in an amazing cross-field run to the opposite corner which meant a thrilling dash to the line was all that lay before him to keep his scoreline ticking over. Saturday was certainly a tale of 2 Adams as Adam S also proved what a great team performance it was as he supported his team mates to victory with excellent ball handling skills and perfectly placed offloads mid tackle to set others loose as they were able to charge forward to the line. Aaron and Rudi returned to the P4 team to again bring us over the line.
