Cumnock adapt against challenging opponents to seal victory.

This week we had a very exciting fixture against 2 very different but both equally well skilled opponents in East Kilbride and an unknown challenge in Falkirk RFC.
Match 1 Cumnock 10 – 2 East Kilbride

In our first game we played against East Kilbride. This is always a very exciting match and today didn’t disappoint at all with the young Cumnock Cougars being able to show that from the start of any game we can tackle hard and run the spiralling mind-blowing lines we have come to be known for. Time and again East Kilbride asked questions of us and in all but 2 of these our tackletastic defenders of Rudi, Stuart & Adam were able to stop the leaks. This then allowed great ball carrying and offloading by all to be the story of this match that our Cumnock heroes were able to write for themselves. Tries from Euan, Alfie, Aaron & Jake were able to seal a victory with fantastic tries
Match 2 Cumnock 7 – 5 Falkirk

In our 2nd match of the day we played against a very physical and very well drilled Falkirk team. This was an extremely hard-fought match from both teams and once again Broomfield was a battleground that the P4 team have turned into a fortress where many journey to but only the home team leave victorious. The story of this match was a staunch defence and quick hard tackling. This game was much closer and by the end of the match both teams’ coaches commented on how well each player fought for one another. The match winning factor in this game was a simple matter of all players move together for each other and work together. Our own focus for the last few weeks has been teamplay and it was fantastic for all when that payed off in spades today. Tries on this match were by way of Euan, Rudi, Aaron & Alfie. However it was the defence, ball carrying & support from Stuart, Adam & Jake that made the difference.

Cumnock Cougar P4s train on a Thursday night at our new all weather pitches at Broomfield. We are always looking for new players and hopeful you can join us soon.

Overall Score: Cumnock 17 – 7 Opponents

Squad: Alfie, Jake, Euan, Adam, Stuart, Aaron & Rudi.
