Cumnock Vs Hamilton & West Of Scotland

This week Cumnocks P4 team were to be tested against 2 formidable opponents at our new all-weather home in Broomfield
The West of Scotland turned up with a large squad of excellent players who really troubled the Cumnock Cougar Cubs both in attack and defence. However, the constant pressure and fast tempo that was placed upon them proved too much with the tackles raining down from our entire team was clearly too much and they kept leaking tries through their defence. All 3 thrilling games were closely fought and showed that both teams really were working hard for each other and the support for each player as they passed through the defenders made a huge difference to the forward momentum.

Our other matches soon got themselves started and this time the P4 Cougars were really firing on all cylinders. The show that was given to the fans on the side-lines was dramatic and also awe inspiring with the pressure exerted on the visitors they really did show that we did not want to lose our status as a hard hitting well practiced attacking defence. Time and time again they came but time and time again they were left wanting. Only on the odd occasion could Hamilton sneak through to get themselves on the scoresheet.

This weekend was a real return to form by the young Cougar Cubs and showed that the all new Broomfield did not mean an all new P4 squad as they continued their dominance throughout the year. With blistering pace and crunching tackles galore, a great day was had by all. Cumnock Cougar P4s continue to look for more new talent and invite all within our Primary 4 age group to come join in with the fun on a Thursday evening at the new Broomfield pitches between 6 and 8 in the evening.
