CUMNOCK P6 NEWCASTLE TOUR
The Cumnock kids enjoyed a great weekend of rugby and fun on their first ever tour to Newcastle and even better with glorious sunshine for the whole weekend. The fun started on the Friday with games of ten pin bowling, dodgems and amusements but the real fun was playing rugby and on the Saturday morning it was Ryston RFC who hosted us. The kids were excited to play the different law variations and added to the excitement of playing their first game and the kids all put in a great effort to win their match. Every one of them played outstanding and was great to see such an effort and them enjoying it. The fun never stopped there with a massive water balloon fight between the two teams and very happy faces all round. Next up was the Newcastle Falcons match and although not the result they wanted it was a great atmosphere at a sell out stadium with the Cumnock kids cheering the Falcons on. On Sunday morning it was Novocastrians RFC who were the host club with a number of touring teams all playing. Roundhegians RFC, Ponteland and Edinburgh Accies were a few of the teams and the Cumnock kids had a great day every one of them giving one hundred percent on the pitch even up to the last game where you could see the tiredness kicking in. The kids all done themselves and their parents very proud with their attitude on the pitch and behaviour off it and was a tour which they will all look back and remember. Special mention goes to Alfie Linden who got player of the tour and Aidan Murphy for the best player attitude on tour even in the last game encouraging all his teammates.
Over the duration of the weekend we met some lovely people who all made the weekend very special for the parents and the kids and really made for an awesome tour. Here’s till the next one.
