With the games played over four ten minute matches the Cumnock kids were up against it having no substitutes and no hiding place so each player had to make sure they were involved and helping out the team. The emphasis over the last few weeks has been about passing and having the support runners when breaking the lines and it all seemed to click with some great rugby, the best yet to date. The defence was solid especially pleasing to see Oliver and Kian confidently making tackles, Sam was clearing out the rucks allowing plenty of overturned ball but the best was the line breaks and passing. Blair was like Usain Bolt with some lovely runs and there was always a support runner there for the final pass. Seth, Lewis and Glen were all tuned in to each other some of the rugby was sublime to watch and then there was Ali consistently covering the wide runners and wide in attack as well. The try of the match came from our own try line, Seth faked the kick when he saw a gap and broke through up to half way and managed to off load to Lewis who darted his way up the left wing and when Glen shouted for the switch move Lewis got the ball away and Glen scored a cracker of a try. The coaches couldn’t pick out a man of the match as all the kids deserved it for what was a great team effort.
