CUMNOCK P7
Cumnock P7 – 9 Wigtownshire P7 - 4
With Wigtownshire low on numbers, Cumnock loaned them a few players and the game turned out to be a cracker. There were lots of good tackles being made, rucking was exceptionally good with plenty of turn over ball from Cumnock and there was also lots of great tries from both teams. Glen and Lewis were both scything through the defence but it was also Katy and Daniel making plenty of yards to help the visitors. Some great rugby with Cumnock keeping their shape in defence really well and brilliant on the counter attack.
Cumnock P7 – 9 Lenzie P7 – 5
It’s always a really tough contest between these two teams and it was nothing different this time. Played over two games the first being a draw and the second Cumnock just pulling away. Lenzie had the upper hand in the first period of play, counter rucking Cumnock really quickly who were not fast in support of the ball carrier. This lead to a lot of possession being lost and Lenzie leading at the break. After a small talk from the coaches the Cumnock kids picked up and the support play was much better allowing some big ball carries from Sam, Ben and Katy who was on fire breaking through tackles and putting in a powerful display with some great tries. Aidan showed us on a few occasions his dynamic speed and change of direction with some great runs which we are looking forward to seeing more of and Kian again improving every week with some great tackles. The most pleasing thing for the coaches was the amount of kids who all played really well, it was throughout the team all adding their touch whether in defence or attack and really good to see.
