Cumnock pull out the stops this week and show signs of the potential in its U15 side.

What a difference a week makes, after the issue with their numbers last week a Cumnock U15 turned out a full side in the next round of Scottish Rugby’s Youth Conferences. This time it was the visitors who could not muster the required number of players and it was Cumnock who were lending players to the visitors.
Although a meaningless game in terms of conference points as Cumnock already had them “in the bag” the rugby that was played was full on with some terrific skills on show. The Cumnock team was also boosted by three new players who all made a significant contribution to the performance on the day. The scores reflect the focus on attack and possibly highlights the need to develop a stronger defence for this young side. However as with any team the key ingredient to success - Effort – was there in cart loads and the coaches of the team were delighted with this aspect of the game.
The flow of scores was very much on a see saw basis with standout players on the day Evan Smith, Ruairidh Airlie and Lewis Douglas in attack and on the defensive side a special mention to Jamie Kennedy and in particular debutant Logan Middleton who put in some crunching try saving tackles.
Coach Thomas Bowditch commented “What a difference, to see a number of our players really stepping up today coupled with some excellent debuts for the new players we could not have asked for any more from today’s game.”
Team List :- Ruairidh Airlie, Arun Cameron-Cooper, Luke Cameron-Cooper, Jamie Kennedy, Keiran Makin, Liam Murray, Kerr Robson, Andrew Rodger, Evan Smith, Cameron Smith, Iain Stobbs, Logan Middleton, Reece Morrison, Lewis Douglas
The Cumnock RFC U15 side is still keen to recruit players so if you are interested come along to training on Tuesdays and Thursday for 1800 start at Cumnock Rugby Club or call 01290 420292 for more information.
Next game in the conference for the U15 team is Sunday 18th September away to East Kilbride with a 1400 KO
