Annan Under 15s 14 v Cumnock / Kilmarnock Cougars Under 15s 27

Both teams started well with the larger Annan pack quickly giving notice of how they intended to play, with forwards rumbling forward with the ball and trying to smash through the Cougars defence. However this part of the visitors game has improved recently and they were able to soak up the pressure. A turnover at the breakdown gave possession to the Cougars and the devestating pace of the attack allowed Gregor Paxton to stretch his legs and race down field to score, unfortunately he was unable to add the extras.

Annan came back into the game and again their large forwards made inroads into the Cougars half, eventually powering over between the posts, giving the stand-off an easy kick. Last play of the game saw the Cougars nearly score with Gregor Aitken kicking through but he was then clearly held back as he followed through but unfortunately this wasn't picked up by the referree. Half time score Annan 7 Cougars 5.

The visitors got off to a great start in the second half with a break down the right wing by Murray McLeod, as he was stopped he offloaded to Taylor Howie who darted through the defence to score. This was shortly followed by a score from Bradley Smith, powering through from the back of a ruck. Two further scores from Paxton sealed the match, one of which was converted by captain Stuart McEwan sealed the match, with Annan managing a consolation try in the final phases of the game.

The downside of the day was the loss of scum half Aidan Kerr with a fractured humerus and the Annan centre with a fractured ankle. The clubs wish both players a speedy recovery.
