In the first game they played Hamilton S1’s and the rollercoaster journey seemed to have taken its toll as they lost two early tries with Cumnock sleeping and allowing Hamilton to walk thorough them by not making tackles. Towards the end of the period Cumnock finally woke up and Calum Park scored in the corner. It finished 3 tries to 1 to Hamilton.
Cumnock then took on the Hamilton S2’s, while the score line remained the same at 3 trys to 1, they gave a better showing of themselves again their tackling let them down but Hamilton relied heavily on their bigger players to take advantage of the S1’s.
In the last 20 Cumnock took on the fresh S1’s again and at last they started to take the game to the hosts and while the tackling improved, some poor hands and organisation allowed Hamilton to run in 2 tries against the run of play.
The coaches were disappointed with the showing today and know the boys are capable of better performances but their attitude has to improve before the can go forward.
