A few weeks ago we had a bit of a party, sorry presentation, at the Club to see Nick Cumming off on his return back home to Australia. Nick arrived back in October and fitted straight into the Cumnock 1st XV. He contributed with plenty of vocal encouragement to the young players around him, popped up with a few tries and managed to break his nose, so a good all round innings.
Cumnock Rugby Club have a long history with Inverell Highlanders, Nick being the latest player to come over from Inverell to play with the club. This arrangement will also see Calum Park and Robbie McLaren join Nick and former Cumnock boys Scott Houston and Graham Montgomery in Australia from the end of May.
Nick was presented with a few keepsakes to remind him of his time in Cumnock including being presented with a unique rugby shirt half Cumnock, half Highlanders, the other half of which was framed and will be added to the clubs collection. A big thanks to Sandra Miller for all her hard work making the strips.
